What is First Night Tri-Cities?+–
First Night Tri-Cities is an interactive family-friendly, alcohol-free celebration of the New Year. The event features live and interactive performances and activities for children and adults to enjoy on New Year’s Eve each year. The event is anchored at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams and the Southridge Sports and Events Complex in Kennewick.
How much does First Night cost?+–
Thanks to the generosity of our community-minded sponsors, we strive to keep the event affordable for everyone. Admission is just $9 per person for ages 4-12, $7 for ages 13 and up and children age 2 and under are free for the entire night. Admission includes unlimited rides on the Gesa Carousel of Dreams and all indoor activities.
Is there a charge to watch the fireworks?+–
No. Outdoor activities (including the fireworks display) do not require admission.
Is the fireworks show canceled in inclement weather?+–
The licensed pyrotechnicians have the final say on whether it is safe to launch the fireworks. Cold weather, snow, rain or fog will not prevent the show from taking place. Other weather concerns such as wind may delay or cancel the show. We won’t be able to answer the question of whether the show will take place on social media or by phone. The decision is made based on conditions approximately 10 minutes prior to the start of the show.
I have older children. Is there anything for them to do?+–
Yes! Our goal is to provide entertainment for all ages. While some activities may be better suited for our younger guests, we have many activities for all ages, such as our interactive inflatable games, live performances, carousel rides, face painting and more. It’s easily a night the entire family will enjoy, regardless of age.
Is food and beverage available and allowed on site?+–
Yes. The Gesa Carousel of Dreams concession counter is open throughout the event. There is also food available inside the sports pavilion as well. While food and beverage are permitted in both buildings, is is not permitted on the carousel ride.
I purchased tickets and now cannot attend. What can be done with the tickets?+–
All sales of tickets to the event are final and refunds are not offered. Tickets to the event are transferrable and you may elect to share them with a friend or family member who would like to attend the event. If you purchased event protection and have a qualifying emergency, you may contact the vendor directly to see if you qualify for a refund. First Night and the Gesa Carousel of Dreams are not involved in the decision of refunds if you purchased event protection.
I just want to ride the carousel. Am I able to ride without purchasing event admission?+–
Due to the nature of this event, admission for just the carousel, such as ride tokens or passes are not permitted. All attendees will need to purchase admission to the First Night event, which includes unlimited carousel rides. Ride tokens and passes do not expire and can be saved for another visit to the carousel.
